Bekele and Dibaba ready to complete doubles in Fukuoka

Both Kenenisa Bekele and Tirunesh Dibaba remain on target for further IAAF World Cross Country double performances after winning their races on the first day's schedule in Fukuoka on Saturday morning. Bekele now ready to chase a tenth individual gold medal in Sunday's 12K event, set up his challenge by claiming the short course four kilometres title in a time of 10:54 minutes.

The 23-year-old Ethiopian bided his time until unleashing a searing finish which carried him clear of Kenya's Isaac Songok for a one second victory, with Morocco's Adil Kaouch, last summer's World 1500m silver medallist third in 10:57. "We have never before finished so close together," admitted
